Course Overview

Dealing with childrens first aid emergencies can be a daunting prospect for an untrained employee, but after attending a Fat Panda Paediatric Emergency First Aid Training course you will feel more confident in handling these situations.

This course contains a combination of theory, legislation and practical elements when dealing with babies and children. Smaller groups allow time for more individual training as required, we make it interesting, enjoyable and fun, whilst building your confidence.

Prerequisites None
Assessment The course Instructor is responsible for determining whether delegates pass or fail based on practical and oral assessment throughout the course, i.e. by observation and oral questioning. The Instructor will only award a pass if they believe that delegates have displayed the requisite understanding and competencies at the end of each session throughout the day.

We use all the latest quality training equipment. Our resuscitation manikins are equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing both the trainer and trainee to check for correct depth, compression rates, along with adequate lung expansion in babies and small children. This information is then viewed during the practical CPR sessions, which can be seen on the trainers iPad and big screen to help with debriefing.

This course will also incorporate aspects of Adult Basic Life Support.

Course Location + Duration

We deliver our open public courses at Unit 8, Somerville Court, Banbury Business Park, Adderbury OX17 3SN

The HSE require 6hrs contact training hours for this course, which can be delivered in 1 day. 

Delegates must attend all sessions during the day to be eligible for successful assessment, which is done by continuous observation and questioning during the course.

Who Should Attend?

All employees who work with babies and children who require a certified Paediatric Emergency First Aiders at work qualification.

Qualification

On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Level 3 (RQF) First Aid at Work Certificate, which is valid for three years. This course is Regulated by Ofqual under their Regulated Quality Framework (RQF) and accredited by the FAA. All our courses are designed to follow the guidelines set by the Health & Safety Executive and Resuscitation Council UK. It also complies with the statutory guidelines published by the DfE and the EYFS framework.
